Florida based singer/songwriter John Land serves up music that speaks to you as a person, not a fantasy, all the while seeking music in its truest form: communication, not noise. In his debut cd, "Found," John brings together the songwriting and musical influences of James Taylor, Nick Drake, Ian Anderson, and Richard Thompson, performers who likewise speak directly to listeners through voice and guitar, rather than an overwhelming musical impression.

My family is originally from Tennessee and so I have an affinity for Appalachian music and country artists like Emmylou Harris and Patty Griffin. Throw in my love for black gospel music and spirituals and you could say my influences are widely varied! As a result, my music reflects that variety - some songs have a definite bluesiness to them, others have more of a pop/rock sound while still others lean towards contemporary folk.
